IntroductionNokia X2 is a candy bar type phone with a numeric key pad that stands out. It was released in July 2010. As the latest X series line of smartphones from Nokia, this phone targets the young at heart, with a love for music and a limited budget. this phone packs the features that make it very functional, a size that fits in any pocket without being uncomfortable and looks quite smooth although this last statement may be quite controversial over the phone that looks cheap when tends you really start to handle it. So let us jump right in and see what Nokia X2 is all about.
DesignAt first glance the Nokia X2 does not look special at all. Why should it? Remember it targets budget users. Nokia X2 has got a smooth sleek design, not too flashy but subtle enough to complement the user's style and tastes. Nokia X2 comes in a shade ranging from red to black, with blue to silver. Nokia comes cased in plastic X2 frankly looks as cheap as it gets.
Seen by looking at the features from the start before, there is a TFT color display capable of 256K colors. This display comes with a size of 2.2 inches and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Above the TFT display there is the ear pieces for listening to phone calls.
Rights under the TFT display, Nokia X2comes with a softkey panel that houses the five way scroll key on the Nokia phones also known as D-pad. This D-pad is surrounded on both sides of the two Softkeys. Below the left soft key there is the call button and the answer in the bottom right soft key there is the end call button. That's pretty much all have to softkey panel.
Below is the softkey panel there is the numeric pad laid out in standard 3 of 4 grid pattern. Inside the right side of X2 Nokia will find the volume up and volume down buttons. Buttons appear at the top right of the microSD card slot. Below is a microSD card slot there is the hardware button for taking snap shots in camera.
Moving to the left side of the phone, you find the multimedia button controls give you access to play, pause, fast forward and rewind music in X2 Nokia. The top end of the phone has a power button as well as the 3.5mm audio jack.
The back of the X2 Nokia Comes fitted with battery compartment, which also houses a SIM card slot. There is also a 5MP camera fitted above the battery compartment and an LED flash on the camera. The space below the battery compartment cover is fitted with a stereo hands free speaker. Under X2 Nokia has a socket for charging the phone. Nokia X2 when it comes to measuring 111 x 47 x 13.3 mm and weight of a mere 81 gms. All in all, this phone is pretty decent design features.
User InterfaceNokia X2 comes with the classic Symbian OS S40. It just means that Nokia X2 is not as advanced as many of Nokia phones that bring the S60 User Interface. Nokia X2 as a pretty basic model of intuitive navigation and easy to use.
The home screen is pretty limited in what it offers such features go. The basic layout of the home screen consists of a list showing the items to be played in multimedia player as well as FM radio. As far as data connections X2 Nokia, users are limited to only GPRS and EDGE. There is no 3G nor Wi-Fi phone. Bluetooth and USB are available at X2 Nokia. Internal memory on the phone is 48 MB and up to 16 GB of external memory can be added to the phone via MicroSD.
Nokia X2 comes with a battery that keeps the phone going for hours and hours. The Nokia phone has a standby time of about 624 hours and talk time of 13 hours. It can play music for up to 27 hours. Nokia X2 does not come with GPS or 3G which is known to consume a lot of power that probably works to the advantage of X2 Nokia.
Nokia phones have good external speakers with remarkable sound quality, which makes listening to music very appealing. Nokia X2 is able to multitask slightly, listening to music you can continue to do other tasks on the phone. The Nokia phone comes with a 5 MP camera that apparently was not good. The picture quality on X2 Nokia will make you think that this Nokia phone is comparable to a 3.2 MP camera.
The voice call quality in Nokia X2 is pretty above average. The sound and clarity the sensitivity of X2 Nokia is excellent. With large background noise cancellation with X2 Nokia and so making and receiving calls, be it indoors or outdoors, is something you want to be comfortable with.
The FM radio reception is not very good on most occasions, but I would probably not hold the Nokia X2 sure as FM signals tend to fluctuate even at distances as small as 1 foot. All in all, this is an acceptable phone as performance goes.
ConclusionAll in all X2 Nokia is a great phone. Although it lacks many features that other Nokia phones have. Nokia X2 is a phone that is certainly worth taking, especially for budget users. It is economical, has great call quality and a big plus about Nokia X2 is its ability to play music very well. The fact that it focuses on the music button only makes things better. The downside of substandard X2 Nokia is the 5 MP camera on board. Nokia should have done much better before cameras, as it is in other models. For a price of about $ 110 I can not complain. As a matter of fact, the price is what makes a great phone Nokia X2 budget
